Priority Mix Up

Why is it that men seem to live through their lower half?  Is it something on the Y chromosome that tells them they should put sexual priorities first?  Everytime I meet a someone I think is a decent man the conversation always evolves to something sexual.  Is it something I've done? If so, am I being unfair in judging the man and immediately moving him into my contact list labeled Men Not To Talk To.  What happened to the days of developing an emotional connection before one in the bedroom?... Oh the things to ponder these days.  Peace and Love.

Challenge Number 3 : Live for yourself and make a decision based on what you in your heart of hearts wants.

Too Little Too Late?

One of the joys of still being in school is the ability to sit around all day during my much needed breaks and watch movies all day long. I recently invested in Netflix to make this hobby a little bit cheaper, and I must say so far I am quite a plan. Back to back today I watched the timeless My Best Friend's Wedding and the always lovely Patrick Dempsey in Made of Honor. While I love both movies, my over-curious, and always questioning, mind pondered: Is it normal to wait until you've already lost someone to let them know how you feel? Why is it that in every friendly relationship we have where we feel, or wish, that it could be more do we not voice our feeling? Is it because of the fear of rejection, or losing a close friend? But that leads me to another question, is it better to admire a friend from afar, in pain, and longing for them to be ours, or risk the friendship in hopes of something better? Like both Patrick Dempsey and Julia Roberts I've waited until it was too late to share my feelings with more than one of my close friends.  Is years later too late to share my secret crush? I think not.  And in the words of some country song I heard sometime, Pain hurts, but only for a minute. I'll keep you updated on how it goes. I'm not giving up.  Peace and Love

Day 3 Challenge : Tell someone out of the ordinary how you feel about them, I love you always goes a far way.

Hustle and Bustle

Are you the shopper who walks through the mall casually viewing the shopping windows or the one who's on a mission for that perfect pair of pumps? Can a shopping style summarize a person?  I confess to being the latter of these two shoppers. Today, like every other shopping trip, I was guilty of speeding through the mall to find my bargains and be on my way.  But today, unlike the other days, I was not alone.  My older, more relaxed, brother reminded me to stop and smell the roses. And in this break I found my own breath of fresh air.  But what about people who don't stop and take a break? Is that what I have to look forward in the coming years of my career?  Watching old reruns of 48 hours mystery I wonder is that what drives insanity? Is hate fueled by exhaustion? We all get caught up in our daily routines without stopping to take our own breather, but thats when life starts to just pass us by.  I'm guilty of not being a high profile lawyer or a doctor who is too busy saving lives to stop and take life in. I'm just a student trying to get by in life and find my calling. But I am also guilty of not stopping to cherish all that is around me.  Here is my challenge.  Take time off and enjoy the little things that are around you that others may not have. Find joy in the small things that you do have instead of focusing on your desires. Call someone you love but have not spoken too in awhile and remind them how you care, for it is through the little things that you truly start to experience life instead of watching it pass you by.  As for my overly average life, I promise to wake up tomorrow, slow-down, and enjoy that first breathe that every glorious morning brings.

Day 2 Challenge : Stop and Smell the Roses

Peace and Love.

P.S. If there is anyone out there reading this, sorry the post is so late.  Lets not count this as already skipping a day on my New Years Resolution to write everyday!

Beginnings

Do you ever wish you could see the future?  I'm sure everyone at one time or another has like me wanted to know if walking away was the right choice.  Last night, at the end of 2009, I walked away.  However, unlike the other times I've walked away, this walk out wasn't about a material object.  This walking away hurt much more than when I walked away from the gorgeous, BCBG black ankle boots with gold studs.  Surprisingly, I asked myself the same questions when walking away from both.  Am I going to regret this?  Will I need this later in life?  What price will this cost me?  I walked away from a man that loves me more  and is also the man I love to try and make it on my own.  Is the need for independence inside every woman?  Is the suspense of the unknown the joy of life?  So here is my beginning, heres to making it on my own.  Who knows what will come in this year.  Regardless, I have my health, my family, and I'm soon to find my happiness. Peace and Love.
